I have a money tree planted in the garden. It is about 2 years old and whilst living, is pale, wrinkly and sickly looking. It is in a sunny position planted quite close to the house. Can anyone advise how often it should be watered and maybe suggest what else I should do to perk it up a bit.

Thanks.

Good idea authentichoccie I didn't think of that!

Cruggs, unfortunately the soil is full of builders rubble so probably has a lot to do with it. I've looked it up on Wikipaedia and it says they don't like very hot conditions and direct sunlight so perhaps I just need to move it.

I have had my money tree in a pot for years, but they don't like too much sun

Try putting it in a part shady area and don't water it much

I just leave mine and its fine

But it's not brought me any money yet

My mum used to say "Money doesn't grow on trees"...

TRNC government thinks differently & that there is one in every garden ...

Yeah had ours about 10 years in a pot in shady area and water it about once every month and hardly ever in winter.

I an told they need very little attention and would guess yours may be suffering from the heat this summer ?

Hope it recovers

dig it out and put it in a bigish pot so you can move it around, what I used to do last winter was: when it rain's put it out in the rain for a day then move it back under cover and leave it

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I will try putting it in a pot and moving it to a shadier position. Good idea Scampy to move it around according to the weather.

Cheers.
