Does anyone know anything about nethouse, as advertised in Cyprus today. claim they'll deliver good, uninterrupted service. Can't take much more of this pathetic wireless BROADBAND come less than dial up?

I'm on Extend wireless and a few moths ago I would have, and did, speak quite highly of the service. Now I wish I'd never heard of the people. The internet is so slow it is unbelievable.

I've been with Nethouse Networks for just close to 18 months. I've not had any major problems with them in terms of down time or speeds. In fact the first time I experienced any down time is the haphazard spells of less than half an hour during this August over one particular week.



I do have one problem with them in that I'm unable to set up my VPN's as they are blocking certain ports used for this service. Even though I emailed them at first and then even visited their offices to explain the problem nothing has been done. I can only chase this up with them each time I'm there as there's a shortage (or absence) of people English speaking technical staff.

I would have one caveat with all the ISP's here. Don't sign up for a year in one fell swoop. At least you can kick them into touch if you're not happy on a month's subscription. I'm stuck with mine!

I am with Extend Broadband at the moment, but am very unhappy with the after sales service and the speed is useless. My neighbour who moved out here a month ago is with Nethouse and she strongly recommends it, but now I have to weigh up the expense of having it installed, but I think Extend have had their run over here, and although in the past they have been fairly good, the help you get is next to none, I will look into the cost next week.

When I got Nethouse back in June, my installation was free, just 50ytl for activation. They may have another good offer running now, even if that one has finished.

Thanks all of you for your replies and we are currently with Bayoz here in the village at Catalkoy Don't know whether they are an offshoot of Extend but connection down more than it's up at 80 ytl monthly, rip-off. Will change to Nethouse end of Nov as paid til then. I agree not to sign up for any length of time but pay monthly in case of problems. We paid 2 months at a time unfortunately. When we see the guys at Bayoz they fix it straightaway BUT we can't keep on like this with daily problems.

Worth checking first whether there is anyone else in the area using a particular ISP who is enjoying the experience as your location is key to the kind of reception you'll have. If you don't know anyone you can always ask them to give you a reference site in the area.



In my case, my neighbours immediately behind us who are resident in the TRNC had good things to say. Nethouse came twice to my place and couldn't install because there was nowhere for them to mount the radio receiver. But I insisted on going with them and had the necessary work done for them to do the installation.

I'm in Catalkoy too, so you should be fine with Nethouse. I've signed up twice back to back for 3 months because you get a better monthly charge by doing it that way. I do understand why you might prefer to just do a month at a time though.

Why dont you kick them all into touch, and go for the new 3g service from Turkcell, brilliant speed, no silly wire,s about the house and so cheap compared to the rest. I in my years here have tried 3 other supplies all promising whatever and all failing to deliver

Nethouse has very good coverage in Catalkoy....they do have their ups and downs here and there but nothing too major unless there is a storm or flood





For dial up your best bet is to try somewhere like Super Online/Kibris Online

Nethouse is NOT owned by eXtend ... there is a misunderstanding at cyprus todays article. i hope they will fix it asap.

By the way ,i have good news to Nethouse Customers... Nethouse is still upgrading own structure. and we are the first internet service provider that trying to adapt Telecom's Regulatory. We only use approved equipments like Motorola at Subscriber side, Certified 18Ghz Links and fiberoptic backbone.



our 2011 slogan is .... Nethouse , Always faster, Always Connected... ;)

We had been with Extend for 3 years, over that time they got progressively worse, almost 1 year ago we changed to Nethouse and have never looked back, good service and when we did have a problem they were able to sort it very quickly, would recommend them.

I think ISP performance is very much dependant on location. Surprised to read the negative comments about Extend. I have been with them for 18 months and can only sing their praises. Installed on time and my connection (with the exception of power cuts) has always been very good. I have a 1Mb connection and download speeds frequently exceed this.

Nethouse, if your service was as good as you promised when i signed up can you tell me why for the past 8 months i have had engineers round at least every 2 weeks, these engineers first said it was my router at fault, i bought new router then was told mast on celebrity was at fault, then my receiver needed updating only to be told new motorola equipment does not work in Karsiyaka, Why do you not respond to my Emails with speed tests, why do i get cut off when i try ringing customer services your 2011 slogan always connected, rubbish most of this weekend no internet, always faster rubbish again i pay for 2mb tell me when will i actually get this

Kary i am also in karsiyaka and use nethouse, yes we do have a few problems but i have to say that 95% of the time i am very happy with the speed. We are mountainside if that makes any difference but we still use the celebrity mast.

Previously i was on nethouse unlimited package, but i am going to get a 10gb/month limited internet, does anyone know are the only downloads limited or uploads are also included in this 10 gigs? and also do they steal traffic?

Hi beechsidebum, we are in Esentepe and Nethouse said NO we cannnot get a signal here, although I know people who do have them who only live across the road, they take your money, then tell you NO SORRY, we cant do it and then dont refund the full amount you have paid, also we had to wait for the refund for 3 weeks (which I understand as the paperwork takes this long) When they refunded eventually,they took 20 lira I know it is not a lot but they should tell customers before they pay if they cannot provide this service to them, still cannot undersatnd why we could not have it!!!!!



Nethouse would you like to respond to me, as nobody has telephoned me back regarding this complaint.

2 mb from nethouse is fake! it is 2 remains megabits only for a first few minutes of downloading, then the speed falls to 1mbit! So in all speedtests it will show u have 2 megs and when u downloading files or watching vids it is 1 megabit! U r blocking all ports so i cant host http server or game server, your prices are awful, and finally you are cheating, don't offer the speed for what i ve paid for! The only good thing about nethouse internet is that there almost no packet loss and pings are relatively small.

I thought it was fake as well. Simply I remembered having a lot faster connection back at home when it was only 512kbps. Then the speed was automatically upgraded and recently was 4Mbps. I just figured it out. When I was downloading something (not here) the speed was 500kb/s, which is apparently = 4Mbps.

It is not fake in Karsiyaka, at least not for me. I get 125kb/s when downloading which is exactly 1Mbps.



Probably many of you knew this but I had forgotten that there are 8 bits in a byte. 1000 Bytes=KB



1 megabit/sec = 1,000,000 bits/sec

1,000,000 bits/sec / 8 = 125,000 Bytes/sec = 125 KB/s



I apologize for mentioning the slow Nethouse connection in another thread. Yes, it is slow but I get what I pay for.



The fact that this is the only place I know where you are still paying so much for 1Mbps is another story...
