To Bar owners and Restaurateurs; For the last year World Food & Beverages Ltd have been offering South African wines from Simonsvlei, Van Loveren and Simonsig for sale under license from us, the importer, Cape Wines. Please be aware that their license to sell these products has now been revoked, due to (among other reasons) non-payment. Any offers from them to sell you these products, which have not been paid for, are invalid with immediate effect. Cape Wines will now be happy to sell you the South African wine products directly. We can deliver to you, usually the same day and would hope to offer you an improved level of service.

Msg 1 I just can't get my head around your post. You appointed and supplied an agent to sell your imported product to the end retailer but didn't recieve payment from your distributor (bastard), but you cannot ask the retailer who, no doubt, paid C.O.D. to stop selling your product! The dispute is between you and the distributing agent and not the retailer! Richard

Message 3. As I read it he is just telling them not to buy more supplies he is not saying don't sell what they have already purchased.

Jefferson and Kittyfun... both right. Supreme is tied in with World Food & Beverage (although they deny it) and it is the man behind Supreme who calls the shots. And Brinsley, I am merely asking people, i.e. bar owners, restaurateurs, shops etc. who want my products to buy them from ME in future rather than the agent World Food/Supreme who owes me a six (yes six) figure sum for goods he has not paid for.

Msg 6 Well that should be easy enough. By cutting out the middle-man your product should become cheaper to the retailer! Good luck in retrieving your debt. You should start a campaign to boycott Supreme until you're paid up in full! Richard

Well ladies and gentlemen. I just had a meeting with the good people at Supreme and they have promised me faithfully that they will fulfill their payment obligations to me. They insist that the account arrears arises out of a mis-understanding and that I will be paid the money that I am owed, provided that I withdraw my earlier remarks. So for the time being I withdraw the remarks I made, and am awaiting developments. And when the affair reaches a satisfactory conclusion I will tell you all about it.

John, have you had any form of payment? I might be teaching you to suck eggs here - just in case you haven't already, try to be helpful and either get cheques off them by offering them the ability to pay you in instalments, or give them say 2 months credit (ie, date the cheque in 2 months time) and get a cheque off them that way. Then when it bounces and remains unpaid 21 working days later (if they truly cannot fulfil the debt) then they will automatically be blacklisted, cheque books will be cancelled and any credit facilities will be unavailable from any bank. And you can report it to the police and have the man in charge thrown in prison. This is the law. It might give them an incentive to pay up. I know how you must be feeling (been there, dont that...). I hope everything works out positively for you.

Thank you for your concern, but I am feeling positive at the present time. I am sure they will meet their obligations.

Seems like stalling tactics to me. Withdraw your criticism of us on a public forum and then we'll pay you!? I don't know how long the arrears are but I bet they are more than two months! Richard

Msg 12 SA wines are generally very good and quaff-able and apart from an odd returned corked bottle, still doesn't justify late payment of the contractible payment agreement. Richard
