The Ozankoy English Bookshop is moving from our present location near to the mosque to the old Rumours site, still in Ozankoy. We will close the old shop at Saturday lunchtime, 13.00, on the 11th June and will re-open at the new shop on Tuesday 14th June 09.30 to 16.00. There will be signs but to find the new shop you should carry on past the existing shop, then past the Five Fingers Restaurant you should turn left, stay left and opposite the Rose Garden Restaurant you can turn left into our new car park. Any queries ring 0392 8152853. There is much more room so our present 5,500 or more books should be nice and easy to browse. The Childrens Library, Card craft classes and Cooks Market will continue as normal. Our extensive Greetings Card selection covers every occasion. Special greetings cards can be ordered. Our paper craft section offers a selection of craft making kit and is very competitive. Our new drinks license means you can have a beer or wine on our shady terraces.

can I ask why you need a drinks license to sell books? may be the pubs and restaurants who rely on selling alcohol to make a living should start to sell books!

Perhaps the new premises, which used to be a Pub came with a license? Most of the pub/ restaurants around the east side have book swop facilities, even the Malpas Hotel has a book swop in the main bar.

It's called diversification.

Good Luck with the move Zanky, Need a volunteer for the lifting and shifting?

Msg 5,

I think it is a wonderful idea to be able to sit under a tree drinking a nice cool glass of wine (or beer or soft drinks) whilst being able to comfortably decide which book to buy better than Tescos!

Thank you Happy Hussar, much appreciated. Hi Victim94, we sell high quality second hand books and make very little profit, but we love books ourselves and as Scooby doo says we are just looking at what our customers want. Lots of people have missed Rumours and we are happy to combine relaxing with a good book for them to enjoy and a cool place for a drink. There were always lovely people who enjoyed meeting there and I know they will love meeting up again. We started this idea 15 years ago with the old B`s Hive so its not a new thing.

Good luck Barbara in your new home. We will come and visit once again. A very big public thankyou for teaching me how to use a computer all those years ago. I don't know what I would have done now without your valuable help.

every body is welcome to their opinion, just remeber in the UK when the supermarkets all started selling papers, books, clothes, butchers counters, the individual shops all dissapeared,

I will keep my drinking to pubs and restaurants where it belongs

Msg 14 - good for you. We can enjoy the new location with a drink/browse knowing you are safe in Leeds. "--- 'remember' and 'disappeared', I think this is how these words are spelled, and I do not live in the UK. However, I will not engage in further negativity, save to say, - have you ever visited the bookshop exchange facility Zanky offers?

This reminds me of years ago when KDV was first introduced, there were no electronic tills to sort it out but we were supposed to make out our bills with different rates of KDV for meat, vegetable, dessert, soft drinks and alcohol! All of them were a different percentage and it was a nightmare until common sense prevailed.
