does anyone know the minimum internet speed (kbps) that i need to be able to use skype without any delays in conversation. thanks.

I've been using the 512kb service from Nethouse networks. Speeds obviously vary and in reality may be lower than the boasted rate.



I was able to use Remote Admin to access and work on a PC in London and transmit & receive files reasonably quickly. I also ran a Skype Mobile via a wireless connection. We used the Skype mobile very occasionally but it worked OK to barely passable ie a certain amount of latency. I used Skype chat more often. This may be down to the phone quality and no of relays of the traffic. My neighbours had been using the 256kb service at first and said Skype was working fantastically well for them. They reside in the TRNC, however they have upgraded to the 512 service this year. Our service costs are c. £560pa.
