icklepix suggest you put TEFL into your search engine and you will get all the info you need - about jobs, what you need, how to apply, different countries etc. I did a TEFL course a while ago - which you would probably be recommended to get as teaching English as a foreign language is very different to teaching to first language students. There are CELTA courses too - more specialist with regards to age groups! As for teaching in say a British school abroad to English speaking pupils- i would think you would need a PGCE from the UK. This takes one year. Hope that

p.s you will see that there are loads of language schools looking for native speakers - all over the world - so easy to get a job i think!!! I did my TEFL with i-to-i they were very helpful and they can arrange jobs etc for you . I picked them because they have set up projects helping local people in communities around the world - they are always looking for volunteers if you fancy a year out!

Try Eastern Mediterranean College, Famagusta. If you have a degree in English, and some TEFL, they do work to Cambridge I.G.C.S.E. exams

icklepix yes i am teaching here - I dont think you will find much here - i know i didnt when i was looking before - think you would have to get in touch with all universities individually - the same as language schools - maybe email them your cv and see what they say!!! Treesy

treesy thnaks very much for that info i'll be sure to have a look later tonight. I thought teaching would be the best thing to get into although I certainly wouldnt do it in england.its probably gonna be a little while yet before we make the move but theres so much to think about, so how difficult is it to get work once are actually living in the north, I assumed they would be crying out for english speaking teachers - maybe i'm wrong!!!
