I believe the TC league already banned them, or the government said they were suspended for x number of years or something over some issue, so they are threatening that since they have been banned they'll go play in the ROC. That is the local gossip out here relatively close to lefke anyway.

I hardly ever read the sport pages of newspapers but as far as I can make, Lefke FC were punished for disturbances during the match. Apparently they appealed to a higher body and the punishment was increased. So now they are threatening to play in the south! By doing this they have drawn some attention from the politicians and indeed they got some support. Lefke Fc may have been unfairly treated but making such threats is very unwise. It is aimed at drawing widespread attention but it is very short sighted and very bad as a PR operation. ismet

scoty: "zoots /erolz - go play on your other board. The guy asked a question? Didn't want you 2 at each other AGAIN." Awa bile yer heid. If you actually look back you will see it's always Erolz butting in to argue. Last time I checked we still had freedom of speech and everyone's (reasonably) entitled to have their say on a thread.

Considering that they were banned on violence grounds, they would be nuts to accept them. If anyone they would have accepted the proper proposal made by Lurucina/Akincilar few years back. They wouldn't even have to cross the border. There is perfectly good field just outside Lurucina which is ok every few years as it is left barron to recover.

Exactly zoots my comments are almost entirley reactions to your pejorative attacks against TC / Turkey and the TRNC, when they are not based in an objective truth or reality. If you stopped making such one sided attacks based on lies, misinformation, insinuation and distortion then my posts would not exists or need to exist. The idea that because a football club seeks to play in a dfferent league it means they have 'had enough' of a given country is a ridiculous assertion. You said it, I challenge it. Free speech indeed.
