The medical shop between the Bellapais lights and Pia Bella roundabout have them, prices vary. They are from around 100tl if I remember correctly. Why not go to your local chemist and get your BP checked once a week, save some money. Chris

I bought one from Amazon and had it sent to my son's as I was going to the UK, it only cost £14 and is perfect for the job. If you know someone that is coming out that would be a cheaper option.

They sell them in the pharmacy in Alsancak almost opposite Ibos Inn Bar. Coming from your direction pass the Golden Lady Statue and its the first pharmacy you come to on the left.

be very wary of what Cypriot doctors call high, 8 years ago I was put on bp tablets and when I saw my gp in England he said it was not high enough for medication and they would have monitored me for 6 months. He told me that the first number is ok if it less than your age plus 100 and the lower number below 90.

If you are CONSISTENTLY (emphasis on the consistently) 140/90 it is considered high. However a one off reading can give a false indication and it should be taken more than one time and on more than one day. Some peoples BP goes up when they know they are going to have BP taken - a sort of panic reaction. Tango1
