| When you first look in to this, you get all sorts of different answers, we found the best from people who had actually done it. We swopped a transit van for a ranger with the view to taking it to the TRNC, then, having received conflicting advice from the TRNC government etc, decided we would not do it because we would be liable for 80% of the book value, so suddenly a reasonable work vehicle becomes an expensive car. Now we are told by a TRNC accountant that because it is going to be a business vehicle (which it would be) we can bring it in with no tax payable at all. Hope this is true, because I am crying my eyes out to see it just sitting on our drive. We did ask the TRNC representative about business vehicles, and his answer was, no, you will pay the 80% tax. Who is right, the TRNC accountant, or the TRNC gov representative, more important, which one is closest related to the TRNC gov-in-charge........ |
