Jen Msg 4 - Nice thing with using salt you can put it out to dry in the sun and reuse it - so ecologically sound and economic too.

I think they are called silica gel which is basically white. sometimes they are available with added indicators i.e. its dark blue when dry and turns pink when wet. It can be put into an oven with medium temperature for about twenty minutes to get rid of the moisture and can be used again. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica_gel ismet

As long as the moisture from the oven is vent to the exterior - otherwise you've just evaporated back into your living space! Plus the cost of running it. Be green, use the sun! A lot of people don't realise that Air conditioners generally have a de-humidifier setting (looks like a drip of water) and this setting cools and dehumidifies the air in hot weather in the same way as the warm setting does in the winter.

Yes Ismet but if the thread originator has a humidity problem i.e. too much, then they only want to remove it... not replace it. The way to avoid wrinkles in stay out of the sun and drink enough water.
