Pop into Pine Bay Club in Alsancak and speak to Huseyin. He does a full meze and the dishes are mostly prepared by his Mum and other female relatives. They are Turkish Cypriots.

In 6 years Ive never seen stuffed tomatoes here and Ive learnt why because the cyps will not eat skins on tomatoes when cooked. They believe it makes them ill.

The little cafe in the park by the fountain roundabout does a couple/three Cypriot dishes daily. If you go make it early as they only cook a limited amount and once it is gone, it is gone. Genuine Cypriot hospitality and a nice place to while away an hour or so watching the ducks in the newly refurbished park.
