There is a music shop in Girne around behind where the old HSBC used to be I think but... I would go to Lefkosa. There are quite a few music shops there and they seem to be more competitive...

There's one on the RHS of the main drag into Lefkosa (not far from the flour mill I think - anyway there's a bit of open ground just by it to park on)...

We bought our daughter's Yamaha piano there and they did a very good deal. i.e. not much more than the cheapest online UK price... and its was done with simple credit card installments...

The street (more like a lane) with the music shop runs parallel to the one way street through Girne...

If you walk down the street from the main car park and turn left and left again I think you'll find it there.... somewhere ... sorry to sound vague. Can't remember if it's 2nd or 1st left, think it's second... it's in a pedestrian area I seem to remember...

Still recommend a trip to Lefkosa though... much bigger music shop.

Electric ones can be played much louder. Also if you get good you can earn much more money with an electric guitar. Accoustic guitars are also more geared up for rubbish music. Country, folk etc.

Take my advice. Get an electris one and become a rock n roll star.

Thanks for your advice Stewy but I just want a cheap acoustic to keep at my apartment for holidays this would be just to amuse myself with.

I did not have in mind a Fender Stratocater and Marshall stack with which to terrorise my neighbours.

Batterboy,

I noticed a music shop of sorts in the Homefront store Girne (on LHS as you head towards Lapta, about 50 yards beyond Astro Supermarket... they have acoustic guitars in the window)...

hello may i suggest a faith saturn type guitar they are excellent value for money and a lovely tone ! it is possible to buy one of these from e bay and get it DHL'd to nicosia south and collect yourself ! obviously it depends on your budget but if you go cheap you will find it difficult to play ! i am a proffessional session guitarist and will shortly be re locating in North Cyprus with "me misses" and would gladly assist you in your search

regards

barry
