Could you advice me please just been refused transfer of title deeds what are my options,should i appeal,or have been told i can put in trust co.This option of course involves more money please advise.

Please understand that the following is just opinions gleened from reading about others here and should not be taken as definative correct information.

Appealing is very very unlikely to result in the decision being changed. All cirumsantial evidence seems to indicate that the council of ministers are blankly refusing to give PTP on any pre 74 turkish cypriot title property. It is less clear if they are also refusing to do so on pre 74 foriegn title, or pre 74 turkish cypriot title already then sold to foreigners since 74 and before they stopped granting PTP.

The problem with 'trusts' as a solution is the 'trust' element. You have to trust that the advocate setting up the trust does so in a manner that all your rights are protected in any eventuality and you also have to trust that the legal system would offer you redress in an effective manner if they were not. THese are not things most people would say you can 'trust' I am sad to say.

One option would be to simply sell the property to someone else. Not a great option I know but it is an option.

NN it is nothing like buying a stolen car at all in reality. Still lets not let reality get in the way of an opprtuinty to push personal vendettas shall we ? If anything its more like buying a car legitimately and then having the government say, sorry you are not allowed to own such a car.

Just to remind visitors to the forum: PTP is not just a formality which many will tell you!

No one should enter into any Property Sales Contract other than one stating that it is "an intent to purchase" subject to Permission To Purchase and unencumbered Deeds being made available,

nor should anyone pay any deposits on properties until they have received their Permission to Purchase. T h i s i s t h e l a w . . .

If you personally decide not to follow the law and not wait you should be aware that you could be refused Permission. If that happens, even if you have paid for the property in full, you can never own it. Again, we recommend that you do not pay for the property until your PTP is obtained and the unencumbered Deeds are ready to transfer into your name.

This is the ONLY way to prevent personal grief! Rent before you buy.

Yfred any transfer of title deeds to a non citizen will require PTP as I understand it. How much is paid as part of such a transfer, if anything, is not relevant to the best of my understanding.

Yfred, a good Lawyer will be able to tell you.

It depends I suspect on whether it was "Gifted" in a Will & Testament and or in another form of Contract.
