| Never found any slimy snakes...... scaly ones but never any slime. Which ones in particular were you referring to? |

| I saw the snake thread and it was very interesting, I also saw the spider thread which prompted me to start this thread, i was wondering if there were any other poisonous or scary/ugly creatures on Cyprus that we should beware of.Are there any poisonous plants etc. |

| roomy, the caster oil plant is poisonous, there are many of these plants in NC, a lot are grown in the gardens because of their red colour!!! but they are very poisonous ..... |

| For crying out loud, and these are commonly grown, I remember when I was very young my youngest brother almost died after eating Laburnam seeds because another kid told them they were pea pods.The council chopped down all the trees. |

| The husk of the castor oil plant seed is the source of ricin.... a nerve agent. It was just this that was found in the flat of a suspected terrorist cell in north London a few years ago. It was also the nerve agent used in the gas attack on the Tokyo metro. Thankfully it's somewhat complicated to extract. |
