My sister in law is coming to stay in the summer hols with her children and has seen a programme in UK about swimmng with dolphins at an aqua park in Antalya. The kids would love to go over for a couple of days to see the dolphins. Does anyone know anything about where this place is and where is the best place to stay nearby???

this is a costal resort in southern Turkey. It may be possible to take a hydrofoil from Girne ( Kyrenia)( North Cyprus) in the summer to Antalya. I am led to believe that if the sea is relatively calm then the crossing will take about 4 hours. Don't forget as British Passport holders you will need to buy a visa at immigration in Antalya. Last time I bought one it was ten pounds. If this is of interest contact a local travel agency and I am sure they will help you to book accommodation as well.

my daughter swan with the dolphins in Antalya, they take photos of you (at a charge) .She really enjoyed it. Dolphin in Turkish is Yunus so once there ask at hotel and you should be alright. İ think it was at a place called Aquapark or Aqualand.

I always shudder when I see this kind of thing ..... Dolphins are VERY intelligent creatures. From the website mentioned in msg 4 it would appear that these particular dolphins are held in captivity so that tourists can swim with them and watch them perform. How would any of us feel if we were held in captivity (all be it that we were being well treated) for the amusement of someone else? Can I suggest that if you want to swim with dolphins you do it at sea where these remarkable creatures are NOT being held prisoner for the personal gratification of others! e.g. - http://www.dolphinswims.co.uk/
