Does anyone have this tv system/package and if so what are your experiences/views (good and bad) on it ? I have checked trnc villa bb and there were quite a few posts but they were nearly all ages ago when it was first setting up. It also seemed as though most of them were West of Kyrenia and we are East (not sure if that makes a difference). Want to check as many options as we can before commiting to one.

Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

We will be changing over to another system in the near future and need an answer to the same question as above. Hope someone can help.

Has anyone got advise on any other TV programme providers?

Thanks

I have asked my friend to ask same Q on trnc board as he says they have an old thread on there about Digital Supreme. Surely someone must have it !!

We have had quite a bit of info on DOPI - £550 initial set up but that includes 1 year subscription. Lots of channels from Showtime/Nova and other sats. They get bbcprime/food/lifestylediscovery/animal/nat geo and other docimentary channels. Also get lots of sports chnnels incl the ones that show Premiership footy and then lots of film channels. We did find that they have some probs with scrambling and freezing and it is difficult to get tv guides so you know what is coming on at what time. They have a website now if you want to look at that - just type in DOPItv and search. Difficult knowing which to go with w/out knowing others who have it and can give some real info. If hear anything i will put it on here.

Hi we got it installed back in May. Selection of channels is good especially if you're into watching all the sports or films. We had a bit of a problem with channels freezing and complained they came out pretty quick took the box away and brought it back since then its been great no freezing at all. You can save your favourite channels and put parental locks on the adult channels with the box. As already mentioned the only downside is not having a tv listings guide but cleos says thats arranged now. and of course you need a good internet provider otherwise no internet no tv! We've been happy with it and Norman from the office is a good guy who only seems to want to try and make customers happy. I would recommend it but then again I haven't had tv from another provider here so I can't compare in that respect.

Checked out DS with the local suppliers.

Main problem seems to be the fact the use a card sharing system. OK as long as the supplier does not find out and cut off the card!!!!!!!!! They are using outside the terms and conditions of original supplier.

We pay full cost for Showtime Arabia and know we have a secure system. Have all premiership football, rugby of both codes plus all the usual UK and USA dross. Really a case of pay your money and accept the risk.

Hye Cyprusishome

Where did you get your Showtime Arabia package ? We wanted to subscribe to that but could not find where to get it. I emailed them (Showtime Arabia) and had no joy.

Thanks

Got ours through Cold in Alsancak. http://www.coldsat.com

Like many things Showtime Arabia does not acknowledge TRNC. In fact a couple of years ago a couple of "members" contacted Showtime direct rather than supplier and had their link cut off. This is potentially an issue with D.S. they use one card I believe and if card number is obtained it would mean all members loose their link.

As an alternative, I believe iceman may supply Showtime.

Thanks everyone - just an update as promised.

Digital Supreme - we have just had this installed (just tv package not the internet as we are already with Extend). Few problems with installation but resolved over 2 days. Installer took extra time to ensure no indoor surface cables as all our front room has hidden wires/cables. Lots and lots of channels (incl some Sky ones). Picture is very good - all explained clearly. Only concern is that if internet goes down we lose lots of channels (not all but most). Cost was £350 install (may be bit more depending on if need extra switch/router) and 50ytl per month (1st 3 months in advance). Early days for us with this one so cannot say anymore. Fingers crossed.

Hope this helps.

For £ 350 instalation, which equipment was provided with it. I am looking to buy a Sat Pack and looking at different options on what you can get at Good Price.

Hello from Coldsat, Sorry for the problem in our web page. Its under construction now and my email is m.akguney@superonline.com. Our showtime system is the one system which is legal in North Cprus. Other ones are card sharing or illegal system from 3 dishes. 2 dish is take channels and 3rd one is take codes from another satellite, but if showtime or nova etc. understand that and change the codes all of the system will be getting down and lots of people will lost lots of money. Be careful when you buy satellite in this country. Sorry for my bad English
