i was just about to buy some turkish lira in uk and the rate was about 2.5. Is it always better to bring the cash to TRNC and exchange in town or is it better to buy the currency in UK. Alternatively is it not just as easy to get it out the machine in town (hole in the wall)

Hi berty,



Never buy your YTL in Uk as you will always get a better rate in North Cyprus. I find I get the best rate from a little exchange up a side lane almost opposite 1001 shop in Kyrenia. Have used ATM machines in emergency and rates are better than Uk but it is the bank rate of the day.

well 'The butlers wife' what a rapid reply. You have confirmed what i thought is the difference between the hole in the wall and cash that big?
