Just received my copy (by special delivery) of the 'Express' newspaper produced by Alsancak Belediyesi and although I enjoy trying to read through this Cypriot Turkish language newspaper I have noticed this month that they are now producing an English language supplement. A great way of keeping up with what is happening in the Alsancak municipality.

By the way Mare-Monte beach is the place to be and it is free.

Good on you Alsancak Belediyesi.

Not quite sure how to take your posting. I posted because I wanted to make Alsancak British residents aware firstly that the the paper has just been published and secondly that there is an English language supplement.

And I wanted to make everyone aware about the re-vitalised Mare-Monte beach.

I do not need to e-mail anyone because I can talk to them directly as I have 3 neighbours that work for the Belediye and they have direct access to the Mayor.

Any way thanks for your input.

What I was trying to put over is a letter to the belediya would be appreciated as the ones in the offices who perhaps thought up this don't ever get any thanks or perhaps read 44!....

Believe me I know that 44 is looked at on a regular basis by most English speaking employees of Alsancak Belediyesi which is why I posted a 'thank you' on here.

Anyway just in case not every enjoys delivery to their villa, this publication should be available at the Alsancak Belediyesi office. If you do not see copies on the counter then just ask.

I wish Lapta Belediyesi would do the same - their newsletter looks very interesting but I struggle to understand it all with my limited Turkish. Maybe I'll email them & suggest an English supplement!
