Spotted it and I think it's the Turkish spy satellite which hangs over TRNC all the time. It's more visible at different times of the nights during the year. Richard

At 03:06 this morning it would have been Jupiter. Venus would not have been visible until nearly two hours later.

The spy satellite suddenly appears from the East at 02.30, too bright for a star or a Planet. Richard

For anyone with an iphone / android phone interested in such things check out the google sky app. You can hold up your phone to the night sky and it will map all the stars you should be able to see, based on your loaction and which way you are pointing the phone. As you move the phone around the sky it will change the display of what you can see.
