I love it, it gives me a info and a lot of laughs, trouble is i met someone recently, when i mentioned cyprus44 this person (who was trying to cover up who he was) said i have know time for that sort of stuff, yet i know him and his family are on this site daily, to check us all out, saddos or what?

44 is a victim of its own massive success,. its a monster created 4 or 5 years ago but as it has grown and more and more people join, the variation of opinions differ wildly so you are bound to get bickering and in fighting amongst the members.



I think a lot of regular posters find this site a bit "addictive" and have to have their hourly/daily fix and of course get embroiled in some topics that lead to squabbling.

For me the best thing to do is take a break from the forum now and again, I did for about 15months just looking in every few weeks to see whats going on and checking out the new members and watching the changes.



But for me I will be ever grateful for the invaluble advice and info I got from this site in the early days and long may it continue.

I think Cyprus44 simply reflects life (good and bad). I agree that repeated personal attacks should not be tolerated but in the main I find it invaluable to keep up with TRNC 'stuff' - long may it continue!

In my "real world", don't meet many people that talk about C44. Methinks you should move about a bit more.

Usually get bored by football, boxing etc.

I find the forum very useful for info when you need someone to clear drains info on medicines, doctors, cafe bars, events and where to go for this and that. I have always found 44ers come up with the goods and it does save time and legwork. There is always something different to read about - grass roots local news stories and updates as well.



I am not keen on some of the, in some cases almost libellous, criticism of businesses and persons, however, if it is constructive criticism its OK with me.

What a strange negative post! I find things in here are usually OK - I don't mind a bit of banter. Although the threatening manner with which some people write sometimes is a little disturbing!

Hi Everyone good morning.



When we are not in NC I visit C44 most days.



On the whole I think it performs a wonderful service.



I have stated before I would love to see total transparency relating to identity of contributors but I accept that would probably mean many valued contributors would dissapear which would be a shame.



I do feel however when there are anonymous posts that are highly critical of a person place or thing they should be removed immediately with all related posts also removed.



That is not to say I wan't to prevent exposure of wrong do'ers I just think it fair that with such posts the identity of the "poster" is also available to all reading it on C44.

C44 is a useful tool, like all tools it needs care and attention. On the C44, the care should be not to deliberately set out to hurt anyone. The attention, read threads but ignore those you know are going in only one dirrection.

being relatively new to C44 and a frequent visitor to Cyprus, i find it a perfect encyclopaedia of good tips for someone like me who wants to organise a holiday for my teenage children from UK to join me (i work elsewhere) and so far ive found out about and subsequently planned: accommodation, car hire for all island, a pub where i can play guitar and meet some friendly people, the best way to get mobile internet while im there etc etc...



The bickering between members Ive seen, is nothing different to what any other social networking site has, and most is quite amusing if a little repetitive, but who gives a t***?



Great site - helped me tons and hopefully have a few beers with some of you in late July/Early August in Lapta area during my pending holiday

I've always found C44 to be a useful source of info re local developments, news and what's going on generally in TRNC/Girne, especially as we are not able to be there more than a couple of times a year at the moment (been doing that since 2004). I like to contribute occasionally when I am moved by someone elses problems, lossess etc and if I can offer any help, advice or information I do. I also have a laugh at some of the funnier posts and tend to ignore those that could be offensive to some. Thanks C44 - great site as far as I'm concerned, keep it up.
