Would like to take my 3 girls (13,10,8) to northern Cyprus. Lived there when I was 13 now 47. I live in the SW England so would not like a London flight but Bristol if poss so would seem to have to fly to Larnaca to avoid transfer flight. Anybody suggest carrier/hotel/package deal that has been good in past. Which is the best location to stay for children ? Any legal or social issues regards a man travelling alone with children - I am there custodian and they each have separate passports etc Is it trivial to cross the border ? I would like to hire a car for both transit from airport to hotel & back and genral site-seeing. Can this be done easily beforehand. Any general advice about things I don't even begin to think of? Boy , just a little request there then but ... Give it rice!

Firstly, I am curious to know how long you lived here while you were young? If you are coming in summer and budget is not a concern, Acapulco Beach Club & Resort Hotel would be the best. They have a sandy beach and a large pool with aqua park so it's very ideal for children. If you have limited budget but wish to stay for more than a week, I'd still stay at Acapulco for 2-3 days. http://www.acapulco-cyprus.com/ You can fly to Larnaca and get transfer for £35-£40 one way to Kyrenia. If you have the paperwork that you are their custodian, then you should have no problems. Nobody will probably ask for the papers but just make sure to bring those. No problems crossing the border. You can hire a car from Larnaca airport and drive to North, but you will have to pay for seperate insurance at the border. Let's hear what others will say...

Hi Izzet, if you hire a car from Larnaca, is it right, the seperate insurance you take out to come North is only third party, and if the car breaks down you are responsible for getting it back to the South? I have read this on other BB. Haven't done this myself, so if anyone out there can tell me if I'm right or wrong it would clear up a few things. Thanks

Izzet/Anyone Have you a phone number for the Acapulco ? I emailed them - address off the website you gave - about a month ago and haven't got a reply. Looks like a nice hotel so I am willing to push it. Wouldn't normally bother if they can't be bothered! Holiday plan making been on back burner for a while but now keen to rock and roll again. By the way I lived in Cyprus from '71 to '74 - father attached to UN. So would have left when 14 not 13. Cheers Mike
