I vaguely remember reading a posting about a mattress supplier in Girne but cannot find it even using the search facility - please could someone tell me if I was dreaming or if there is one please. Alternatively recommend a reasonable place to buy a mattress for a rental property.

If someone aswers you I would be interested. I've searched everywhere, and am still searching, for a really, really soft mattress, something that doesn't seem to exist here, but I live in hope!! Even in Lefkosa all mattresses are too firm. Tango1

Hi Tango yes I know what you mean about the local mattresses they do seem to be rather on the firm side. We are still fortunate enough to be sleeping on an English mattress think it will be a case of importing one again next time we need a new bed!! Apparently mattress manufacture & export was a very successful business for this country before the embargoes. Still waiting to hear if there is a shop in Girne please.

Hi Ozankoys, I guess there is always a Tempur mattress, but not sure about that in this heat, phew!! Anyone out there have any views on Tempur mattresses in the tropics. I know what they're like, so I don't need reminding about how comfortable they are, lovely!! T1

Our best seller is a sprung mattress covered in memory foam. It also has a (non-detachable) keep cool topper as memory foam is not cool enough in these temperatures.

Mermaid Fabrics do mattresses that are suitable for rental property. We bought a fantastic quality mattress from Olgun in Ozankoy, it is a Yatsan (see ad at top of page). Not cheap though, about 550 Euro.
