I made my will in the TRNC 4 years ago and it cost £70 for a joint will, has the law changed ?. I was told

your will had to be made out written in Turkish in the TRNC, and Vice Versa in English back in the U.K. I was also advised that it was best to have your/an advoate as executor, because in the event of a death, the executor (who ever it may be) has to be present to sign any papers during probate. I was advised Probate takes 1 year to complete and costs £1000. Since then i have heard there are forms out that you can fill in yourself and go to Girne law courts and it costs 35tl for stamps.

Contact DC (Dutch Crusader).You Do Not need the services of an Advocate/Pseudo Solicitor, unless you have £1k to spunk away!.

There is a will template on the HBPG's website. We used it to do our wills in English, the process is quite simple and fully explained there.

I was at the court this week and found out that some rules have changed (a bit). I'll write it all down point by point and make a 'manual' available.

I have now available a 'simple' blank will also, very useful if no children are involved. The will was checked by a local and a UK lawyer. This afternoon I'll put the 'simple' will and the extended one (both in word.doc) in one downloadable file so you can make your own choice.
