I believe next Wednesday, July 20th is Peace and Freedom Day. Does anyone know what celebrations are planned for Girne this year? Are the Red Stars appearing? Are there Turkish Bands again? Anyone got a timetable of events? Information would be useful as there appears to be a GENERAL LACK OF PUBLICITY for any events - same as last year!

don't forget the all night vigil on Escape Beach, . Or did you want events on the day itself only?

I do hope Mr Spider gets out to this day as he dose enjoy peace and freedom day here. Maybe some good friends from the line dance team will contact him while I am away..Hope so.

Dont like to think of him alone for the next 5 weeks.

The top floor of the Watermill Hotel, Girne, with a rooftop bar and terrific views will be open. I forget the exact timing, but somewhere between 3 & 5 pm. Someone else will confirm exact times.

The parade normally starts about 2 and the air display on about 5.30pm - you will normally find all the details in Cyprus Today, probably today's edition and/or maybe Wednesdays.

The Watermill Hotel has postponed its usual Monday evening BBQ to Wednesday to coincide with the 'fly-over'. The bbq cost is 15TL with lots of meze's, two chicken dishes & a liver one. Btl beers are 4TL on the roof-top bar.

This is one of the days that I loved in the TRNC, I am quite sad that I am not there to celebrate Turkey's peace invasion.
