A group of Chinese Buiness men were received yesterday by the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Hasan Bozer.

Cyprus Turkish businessman Hasan Özbafli, who is assisting the Chinese delegation with its contacts in the TRNC, said that the Chinese businessmen were particularly interested in tourism investments.

Parliamentary Speaker Bozer for his part stated that the TRNC, despite its small size, was aiming to open itself to the international community by developing social, commercial and economic ties with other countries.

“Despite political problems, the TRNC is a country which has a good functioning democracy and which adopts the EU standards in its administration. It is important to cooperate with China which has the world’s leading economy” Bozer said.

Don't you just love that last paragraph! Good functioning democracy???????
