Does anybody have a container coming out in the next three months? I would like to bring a pair of good quality platform steps from the Uk. Cant buy safety steps in TRNC, and dont think I would be allowed to bring any across border from south. Not much fun picking olives with wonky steps dancing beneath my feet!

If you live reasonably close to SE London, Peckham, I know a guy (Arif) who is driving a van over to Lapta at the end of next week, and his father (Ramadam) who is driving a van over, again to Lapta, in three weeks time. Either would be happy to quote you on bringing over your platform steps. You collect in Lapta, or could be delivered to a reasonably close by location.

Have you thought to ask Jo Valentine? She arranges them so might know who may have some space for you.

Hi Nigel, Yes, they would be perfect as I can probably deliver steps directly to them. I sent you an email earlier this evening to your hotmail address. Did you receive it? Please can you let me have Arif and Ramadams contact details.

Nigel still trying to email you but your not receiving. Do your friends make regular trips to Cyprus, or is this a one off?

Hi Julie, a1sysman@hotmail.com - copy and paste. Ramadan (can never remember if it is ..dan or ..dam) has been running Kelebek Transport, a to/fro Lapta/London transportation business for over 25 years. Arif, his son, has been in partnership for many years too. They use other drivers too - usually a convoy of about four long-wheel-base Transit type vans and trailers. They have refrigerated trailers for bringing to the UK hellim, olives and other perishables. The guys are trustworthy and very reliable, albeit one has to work around their schedules. I have used them maybe six times now. Using them again to transport out to NC this coming week. Don't ask me about insurance - it's not been an issue for me. Don't ask me about import duty - it's not been an issue for me. My items have either been collected in Lapta or delivered to me. I would say they make maybe 4-6 trips, both ways, a year - all depends on custom I suppose. I hope the above helps, Julie. Ditto for a

Rogspur, sure they be interested - whether they could fit the cardboard boxes into the vans this time round, I don't know - best give Arif a call - his UK number is above. Mention my name as he might be curious how you came about his number. I have seen three-piece-suites in the back of one of their vans before. Also a brand new 60" flat screen TV. I have had transported over to NC six metal office cabinets, two at a time, 1m x .5m x 1.6m (w,d,h)... not cheap, but I couldn't find anything of the same quality available in Cyprus. N

Arif leaves from Meeting House Lane, Peckham, SE London on Sunday night, for North Cyprus. Be quick if you would like him to transport something over for you. Arif's contact details posted earlier in this thread. His father, Ramadan, leaves from the same location, again for North Cyprus, in about two weeks time.
