The match was played out involving almost 60 players from both sides and broken down into 4 twenty minute quarters to allow for rolling substitutions. With the aim off getting those with less experienced onto the park and for some to have their first taste of rugby. The game was a complete success, well contested and played in the true spirit of Rugby. Cherry B who donated her appearance to support local developing rugby was superb and gained many new fans from the UN team who heard her sing for the first time. The final result 17 to the local players 7 to the Unicorns. A big thank you to all those who organised the contest and a special thank you to the Sports Council and to Kucuk Kamakli Football Club for the use of their ground and staff.

Sorry I couldn't be there. Well done to all involved, lets hope it's the start of more Rugby events in TRNC. Martin.

BigMart, we have some plans, nothing finalised as yet but hoping to put a fixture together together after Ramadan. Thanks Swany, you would have enjoyed it for sure.

It was certainly a good-tempered match, but what with one of the teams being part of the peacekeeping force it was always going to be. In any case, thanks for organising it.

Very true, there were a couple of contentious moments but borne out of inexperience and not cynicism. Hats off to both sides for their conduct on the park. There will be a full match report on the website cypruswarriors.com later in the week.

"There were a couple of contentious moments but borne out of inexperience". Yeah, I think you're going have to work on ensuring our players tackle a little lower - luckily the opposition, being the UN, weren't in a position to complain too much about the dangerous tackling.

Absolutely Crumpy much work needs to be done and given the theme 'Developing Rugby' we need as much help from all quarters as we can get. In both hands on training and financially too to be able to progress the three clubs ambitions here in the TRNC. If there are people out there in a position to help and care about rugby please get in touch. We want to attract more visiting clubs to our part of Cyprus, stage more tournaments and fixtures, gain more match experience and entertain our supporters. Suggestions please in how this can be achieved?
