A while back some nutter named macaozy or something tried to bring this forum down, his postings hit rock bottom levels of decency with his foul language and disgusting insults, but he went and this forum survived.

All of these sad, attention seeking individuals that are presently trying to spoil the board for the majority of it's decent genuine members will eventually go the same way as macaozy did. If we all just ignore them, don't respond however much you want to or however personal or insulting they get they will get bored and go away.

Some of them I suspect we can easily identify, they've been here before under many different guises,we should really pity them I suppose if their lives are so empty that they have to play stupid games for any enjoyment.

Please, can we all ignore them from now on, they have nothing to bring to this board so why should we bother to feed their troubled ego.

I've been an interested reader (and contributer) to C44 for a while now, and never fail to be surprised at the levels of sheer nastiness to which a certain number of posters seem to feel it necessary to stoop. While probably most of the garbage is the result of either a lazy or lacking upbringing, a poor or brief education, an inherent nastiness of character, a double digit IQ, or all of the above, I can't help but consider that a fair amount of the current Cyprus unpleasantness could well be the result of an influx of British migrants.



I will always take individuals as I find them, and have quite a few valued British friends, but there seems to be a bit more unpleasantness than should be the case with a balanced program of immigration. Some of the unbelievable replies to a couple of potsts from Mikelapta are a good example of what I'm trying to say.



I realise I will now become a target, so fire away people, and the best of (British) luck, as they say...

People are often not polite to me when they disagree with my views. But I have never requested they be banned. That is the point, I think no one should be banned under Rule 3 unless the "victim" requests it.

I dont think any of the moderators have anything to answer too. Lets face it the board has become ridiculous with all the arguments, threats, name calling etc.



I suggest we move on. Moderators have made clear that in future this behaviour will not be tolerated, and anyone from now should be punished for breaking the rules. What happened before is neither here nor there. The current calls for the rules to be maintained have come from many board members and moderators have made clear that they will do so.



If you do not like the rules, walk away and start your own board.



Moderators: Many thanks for at last tackling the problems that we have had on this board. This may make you unpopular with certain members, but I'm sure that the (not so) silent majority are with you all the way.

Its not important what I think-Rule 3 clearly sets out a code of conduct which every member should observe.



If any member is judged by the mods to be in breach of this rule their membership can be taken from them-breach (I assume) would apply to any member calling another member a liar-this in my view would be a personal attack.So in your case you have called another member a liar twice on this posting so CY44 would be within their rights to terminate your membership



Your last sentence is just an assumption so I hope this helps to clarify my views.



I also agree with the action CY44 have taken-it has been long over due.

I guess the bottom line has to be that the moderators have the final say - whatever rule is breached.

If any member accuses another member of lying on this forum the mods I assume will judge this as being a personal attack and that member should be banned.(The member will be in breach of rule 3)



I think this is perfectley reasonable as it will help to prevent someone from deliberatley sabotaging another members business for their own gain.

If sombody makes an accusation of lyeing and can prove the lie then it should be OK, many put up lies and when challenged they just dont answer but the lie has been told and people will believe it.

magicart, it is a fact that washerman decided to proactively make an accusation about me, stated as fact, in a thread I was not even in and where the accusation was not related to thread topic at all. For me anyone who was genuinely concerned about fair and equal application of the rules would accept that this was unacceptable behaviour. That you seem more than willing to comment on where I have broken the rules but steadfastly refuse to coomment on the above, can only lead me to think that you are not sincere about equal application of the rules. How could I think otherwise ?

In addition to him making the accusation, I know as absolute fact, that the accusation is not true. I know as absolute fact that the person who made the accusation canot prove it, because it is just not true.
