It is that time of year again when skin suffers badly from the sun if care is not taken. So have copied this from last year.

The majority of moles are HARMELESS lesions. However if the mole shows change in colour or size or become symptomatic (itch) or change shape they should be removed and sent to the labs for histology reporting, to determine if malignant changes have occured.

The other thing to watch for are Rodent Ulcers ( basal cell carcinoma). These generally appear on sun exposed areas of the skin and present as small, waxy nodules with rolled, pearly border. As it grows it starts to ulcerate and crust over. This is the most common skin cancer , can be treated, so don't ignore if you suspect you have a lesion they are most common between the hairline and upper lip. Seek medical attention as if neglected it can lead to loss or pa

Seek medical attention as if neglected it can lead to loss or part or all of a nose, ear or lip. Preventative measures always best wear a high factor SP30 or above.

Sorry to hyjack your thread Chris, this is vital information for anyone exposed to the sun for any period of time, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential.

Dear All, I posted on another thread that I am having a campaign for the next month on sun protection creams and lotions (as well as insect repellents and aftersuns). All are half price. Please take advantage and protect yourself. I stock Calypso and Cabana oils, dry oils, lotions and creams, in factors from 6 to 50 and also special ones for the kids.

Even if you haven't used it in the past, please think again (even a factor 6 is better than nothing). The ozone layer is not there to protect you anymore.

Thanks again Chris.

I would also add that Pippie's creams are very cheap, yet very effective. I have white skin with freckles and never go brown. I use her high factor cream all the time and it gives me total protection.
