I have always been very happy with all mt Arcelik products. as far as I was aware all Arcelik products are made in Turkey however looking at Wiki it says this, "The Company operates 10 production plants in Turkey, Romania and Russia, including refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, cooking appliances and components plants. It offers products under its own nine brands, including Arçelik, Beko, Altus, Blomberg, Arctic, Leisure, Arstil, Elektra Bregenz and Flavel" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ar%C3%A7elik

I've got Arcelik fridge/freezer, washing machine, cooker & hob (2005 vintage although used in holiday home) and recently bought a LCD TV. All working with no problems I'm pleased to say (whilst touching wood)

I have nothing but praise with the after care service. Dvd player went wrong took it into shop they tested it agreed it was faulty sent it off to Nicosia for a repair. done and dusted, no problem staff were very nice. The shop I am reffering to is the one opposite the pound shop in Girne.

It does say they do have a , "Washing Machine plant - Changzhou, China" But I would imagine that is only for units for sale in the Far East as they also have a, "Washing Machine Plant Cayirova, Istanbul"

All my white goods and television are Arcelik. Most are 4 years old and have had no problems. Bought the television and they delivered the same day up a very dodgy road.Competitive prices and a good product. flossie

I have all Arcelik products in my kitchen that were first purchased & used in 2001. They have been used full time ever since. This is not a holiday home - we live here full time & have done from the outset. The fridge freezer has needed one repair, a new thermostat a few years ago, cost including labour 100 TL. Not done by Arcelik, but my local Turkish repairer. The oven needed some expenditure last year after a new kitchen. New elements were required. Cost 250 TL including labour, again done by my trusted repairer. This problem may have been caused by removing the oven from the housing. All working fine again now. The washing machine, absolutely basic model has never needed repair yet & neither has the dish washer. So to sum up, my experience with Arcelik white goods has been excellent & I cannot say the same for some of the much more expensive items that I'd previously owned in the UK. especially washing machines.

Hi Almost all of its parts are produced in china and put together in various parts of the world depending on the market. Just like the new MG! And almost everything else in the world.. The stock of Arcelik in N. Cyprus may even come directly from china. The manufacturers are getting smart. Or they think they are at least. Bloomberg is said to be made in Germany. Only its made in China and put together by Turkish workers in Germany. You have to watch out for the Italians as they are the biggest crooks. They don't even put them together in Italy, they are stored in a warehouse in Italy and printed made in Italy and shipped across Europe . Long story short, pretty much everything is made in China. In one point in time maybe even our ancestors were made there.

I am from Turkey and I have been using Arçelik in my home, office, etc. for nearly 30 years.I had never any problems whatsoever with this brand. Moreover, tthe repairs that the products needed occasionally were due to my mistake since usually I skip reading the manuals.thoroughly-I do not want to loose time-a bad habit. The service is very good. Arçelik is not ' made in China';it is 'made in Turkey'. Have no worries.

Used arcelik products for over 5 years, with few problems. After sales service has been first class and very well priced.

Unlike Pipie we took dvd player back, bought less than a year by my son as a present and they kept it, then said they couldnt mend it and we could have the money back. fine - went to collect and they would only do a cheque made out in lira for my son in UK, he could do nothing with it, as the bank wouldnt accept it. Little bit narket, as we'd said we'd accept another one, then they said they didnt stock dvd's anymore!

Another thing to take into account,is the number of major power surges, these can easily shorten the life of even the best appliances ..........we have anti surge units on ALL our electrical goods...

re. msg 15. Dvd players are a nightmare & very problematical. If the laser packs up (highly likely) they are not worth repairing. Laser costs more than a new Dvd player. In the UK. you will get a replacement if it's within the 1 yr guarantee. We had 3 pack up here, both bought in the South & in the UK. & none lasted more than 2 yrs. Given up buying & using Dvd players now. We now have a little gizmo that came from the UK. without a laser to go wrong instead. No more problems. Re. replacements of electrical items in the UK. UK is extremely lucky to have 'the Sale of Goods act', but it doesn't apply everywhere or elsewhere in Europe? or anywhere in Cyprus, including the South.

Arcelik electrical appliances have to withstand serious voltage drops due to the unreliable power supply in North Cyprus. I have ran an Arcelik fridge on a generator during a mains power failure on almost a weekly basis since I moved to TRNC. The appliances are good value for money
