Just go to the hospital where they lie you on a bed, stick a little needle in the crook of your arm, they make ask you to make a fist and open and close your hand. After it you will get a cup of tea and a biscuit. Also they will check your Blood Pressure and ask if you are on any medication..

msg 6.....If the person is a First time donor,surely a blood "sample" is taken for screening before any blood is taken.........It would be somewhat reckless otherwise .

I deliberately didn't give the lady all the details as I didn't want to scare her off with it being her first time. You would not believe how many people are terrified at just the thought of a needle!

can i thank all those people on behalf of alan and babs who went out of their way to try and help today. it was a communication problem but when faced with being told to get more blood thats what you try and do babs has asked for me to thank everyone concerned. thankyou expats when the chips are down you are all there.and remember one day it could be you. al is out of theatre and all signs are good,thanks again.

I am Res. Neg. Group O but I am 71, used to be called to the Lefkosa hospital but not for a few years, is there an age limit for blood donors? Would be grateful if you could let me know. Thank you.
