My vine is looking really sad this year. the first year we bought our place next doors sent us a lovely picture of a bunch of grapes on our vine.

last year we had building work done but still had grapes although tichy as i couldn`t get to them to water.

This year i have watered every day but all the grapes have withered.

The vines in the TC`s garden next door are lush..so don`t know what i did wrong....

Mine are the same, they looked really good a couple of weeks ago (but small and not ripe) and now they look like a bunch of manky sultanas!!! I have heard that it could be a virus - hope not as I hate chemicals in the garden. Take a picture and ask at one of the nurseries - thats what I am going to do.

Loose Boots, Grapes are very deep rooted, just watering the soil around the vine is not giving them enough..

Here is an old trick from the Guernsey Vineries..now used for growing Toms

Get a piece of 2" steel pipe about 2ft long ,carefully hammer it into the ground about 8" from the vine,do it a bit at a time removing it and poking out the soil plug until you are about 16" down.. put the pipe back in the hole and water down the tube.....It worked for the old Guern's......It may for you.....

We had huge amounts of grapes last year and this year very poor. We have been told by locals that there is a virus.

My gardener has told me to water the leaves and bunches of grapes with a hose to ensure top quality bunches of grapes.
