Availability is quite good. They will order it in for you if they do not stock anything. Cost can be quite expensive depending on your prescription. I have to find 575YTL every month for mine. Going to start going back to UK where my scripts are free and can get 2 months at a time. It works out cheeper to go back.

If you are looking for all medicals near Alsancak or Lapta are, go to the Pharmacy near the Bay of Bengal restaurant, in a group of shops between the new Starling and Green Holiday Village. Can't remeber the name, but someone will post it I'm sure.

Very good shop, and all pharmaceutical there have the official Govmt price tags as prices in NC are regulated and Govmt prescribed.

I know of a couple of poeple buying in town who have been over charged, probably people thinking they were tourists.

If there is not official sticker on it, do not buy.

The pharmacy is called Aydin. Will give advice on the phone if needed.....0533 871 4407.

Hatice the owner speaks excellent English and really is very helpful.

Have to agree with you in regards to your comments...very good.

My hubby and I take an antistimine tablet daily and were buying them in Girne....box of 10 for 3.12YTL.

In Aydin they are 1.68YTL for a box of 20.

Not only are the prescription drugs readily available at reasonable prices, both

my daughter and I have needed hospital treatment since we've been on this beautiful Island.

We both were treated very efficiently, I phoned the doctor, and within an hour

was in a hopital bed with tests being carried out.

Much the same in my daughters case.

The cost was very reasonable too.

Hope this puts your mind at rest, and good luck with your move.
