No, sorry that they will kiss their butt goodbye to the EU. IMHO i don't think he has done anyone any favours including himself and Turkeys credibility. I read that he was saying he saying he was all for solving the Cy problem. Then goes and does something like this. If i honestly thought he was doing this for the benefit of the TC's then it wouldn't be as bad. But i don't believe that for one minute. I think his time may be better spent looking at his own economy instead of upsetting the Cypriot people.

blade message 4: another guy who thinks (sigh) cyprus has anything to do with turkey's eu "application"! yes, it has been officially stated it is so but voters in france, germany, holland, austria would hang their politicians from a lamp post if turkey of 80 millions was ever admitted ...oh but it's true cyprus may feature big as a pretty serviceable fig leaf and the future of the eu and all its handouts is now in some doubt with the impending collapse of the southern eurozone as regards the cyprus problem: if the two sides could agree what it is, they may not have wasted the last three years trust me...and wise up

Andre, I doubt there are many people who don't know exactly what the Cyprus problem is...the problem with the Cyprus problem is what to do about it. I also don't believe there are many people who consider it possible for the two sides to reconcile. That being the case, it seems then only a matter of time before TR makes things official, after which it would probably follow that the ports and airport would all be opened and the TRNC government would be assisted by TR to become more focussed on general efficiency and the streamlining of the public service. Probably...
