Yikes!!

I would call my bank now Jock1.

I make it a rule never to respond to these "bank" emails.

If the bank really need additional info they will ask you when you visit or write to you.

I have just sent E-mail back , with a note saying i do not agree with this info being sent via E-mail , not when fraud is at it's paramount , also the E-mail contained other E-mail addresses which i regard this as confidential information . not very impressed at all .

I think its quite a good rule of thumb to understand that banks never ever send you unsolicited emails requiring you to send personal details back... So unless you have asked them a specific question and they need more info to reply or to carry out your instructions I would regard all such mails as attempted scams

Jock1 I'd get on to them at once and find out if your accounts are as you'd expect and change some PIN numbers/passwords

They had all details when I opened the account including a photocopy of my passport. They dont need anything else and they are not getting it, especially by e-mail.

I had a missed call from Turkbank from Gemma Carter, I phoned back and they are updating there customer files (introducing higher levels of security) If you are not sure about any message you have from Turkbank then just phone Gemma and she will explain everything.

Oh by the way I have also had a request from Garanti Bank to go in and update my details. I think there is now a major shift in the way TRNC banks carry out their business and I guess it is to bring them inline with the EU banking system.

Im sure its legit as mine came from a neighbour who works for the bank. However to send that amount of personal information on the internet strikes me as unwise. Ive asked if I can hand it in.

I have no doubt that it is legit, but there is no way i would do via email.

Jock1

You need to be chastised, your initial response made it look like you had responded to an e-mail with you details

Shame on you

I too received the mail & asked Linda if it was genuine and she confirmed it was & she had been asked to get the information as quickly as possible. She says by the feedback she realises this was not a great move & I for one will not give any information over the internet,

She also did not blind copy so you could see other peoples email addresses which in UK would be a serious breach of data protection!!!!
