Hi Andrew,

Dont you think it deflects away from the fact that the Greek Cypriots have been dragging there feet, and refusing to move on any issues whatsoever,

re msg 3 Paul

It is interesting that you talk about GCs 'dragging their feet'..

Might I remind you how many decades and Court cases it took to get some sort of process in place to resolve disenfranchised GC property ?

mmmmmm,

You are talking about 2 different things:

1. GCs 'dragging their feet = politics.

2. how many decades and Court cases it took to get some sort of process in place = litigation/legislation.

TRNC & M6

The roc does not have a property solution for TC's unlike Turkey 7 theIPC again GC dragging their feet

Whatever the gc politicians agree the church will veto 37 years of division and many more years prior to that of discrimination by the Gc's to the TC's and minorities

The south will soon join the greeks as a financial basket case

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/economy/our-view-government-has-run-out-time-vacillate-rescue-package/20110722

Separate and thrive or continue for another 37 years and stagnate I think that's what Turkey thinks

As for the south its nice being important white house downing street and all the jollies

Without the Cyprob Chrys and his political cronies of the roc are as important as the prime minister of Jamaca eg a nice holiday island not much more

I think he has played straight in to their hands. They are laughing their faces off right now at him.

They always get blamed for dragging their feet or being difficult, well they don't need any excuse to do that any more do they. They have nothing more to talk about. Everyone now see's Turkey clearly and i am sure it will reflect.

Lets face it , it is this side which has back tracked on origional agreements, as now Turkey has also done so.

So which side is the problem?

'TRNC' Vaughan

..and WHAT would you say wasn't 'Political' about TR saying, " it is a 'TRNC' affair" ... the ECHR ruling it is a TR affair and successive orders to pay for loss of use being stalled ?!

??

..and what would *you* call the Guardian of properties ? ..

I know a TC who got his land back in 2004 - using the RoC prescribed route..

What was TOTALLY wrong was the 'rump' RoC insisting in residency within the area it controls for six month prior to an application

I was also under the impression

If a T/C resides in the south for 6 months

he can get his property back?

Both. It would seem we are back to square one. Probably better for the TC's than the GC's. I do not think the world will settle for another fifty years of TC isolation.

The best solution would be for the TC's to come under Turkey's umbrella until they can stand on their own; at least that way they stand a chance. Under the GC's they will be carved up as soon as they think nobodies looking, regardless of agreements - just like before.

I wonder how long it will be before the Gcs go kicking and screaming to the powers that be about Erdogans speech. What he said will probably de-rail any chance of re-unification,but what he said needed saying. And should have been spoken years ago,

Well I for one would like to know how much TC land has been built on in Paphos,...the area has over the last 5 years exploded with developements and we all know large area's of that location was TC owned.

So none of this developed land is TC ?

I think Erdogan is very good at raising the stakes and usually comes out better off from a crises. He feels that the time is right for this i.e. Turkey is economically in good shape and making excellent progress like 10% growth per annum compared to a miserable 1-2% for EU coupled with the euro Crises with Greece at its worst and ROC heading the same way. Erdogan believes that within the next few years Germany will ask for labour from Turkey which has a very young population. Indeed he has been advocating at least 3 children for each family.

The GC propaganda machine is in full swing, bringing up quotes from disgruntled Unionists, fringe TC, and political parties with little support - at best having two seated MP’s. We now read of police brutality in a minor scuffle that had little support – no mention of baton charges and tear gas attacks on their own. This is a typical GC ploy to create a smoke screen and blame everything on anything but their own inadequacy and bad faith.

Will the world fall for it again?
