Why are closed topics not deleted from the board? The subject can still be looked at so it carries on.

It may be that some topics remain for the information of others ie. Where do I get my boots repaired in TRNC. This may answer the original questioner, so becomes closed. But is still available in search, in order that others may benefit in future.

For anything else I think we would need to ask a moderator

Bill

re msg

So WHY, does a thread suggesting ErolZ has been involved in a failed venture with 'another' well-known board member stay 'intact' ?

Pat kindly interjected, but the fib is there and has been viewed by 600+ folks :(

Hi Bill

I read it, but a bit like the ad for services from 'poolsrus' you picked up on.. it makes no sense.. !

Some threads get obliterated, some get closed and some get left open.

Now I appreciate modding is a THANKLESS task and keeping everyone happy is IMPOSSIBLE, but in the thread where an allegation - without proof- was made re 'wife-beating' it got closed, but in the one *I* refer to it - is suggested that monies have been taken, but a service wan't rendered by 'two well-known members'... it is clearly inferred ErolZ should recall this incident ( hence must be a party) and the OP reserved the right to 'dangle' an allegation - having alluded to at least one of the parties - but THAT thread stays 'intact' :(

Again, I know modding is a thankless task, but I'm asking you to re-visit the thread and treat it in the same manner ...

Another moderator has made comments on the thread and 'I' won't get involved. If the moderator chooses to close it down and delete it then so be it.

Search and you will find maybe 5 topics where wife-beating has been mentioned and many others where the two words are both used. Nice tool but I'm not interested in the topic. I suspect in real terms that often there are not enough mods and or not enough around plus they can't look at every thread.

If you have a problem why not email a moderator directly, if they agree they will deal with it as soon as they can?

For the record I am largely indifferent to such insinuations made about me on this forum by certain posters. In the specific case mentioned here, and also for the record, I simply have no idea what the person making the claims and insinuations was on about. I have only ever been involved with one UK company in regards to 2 way sat internet, a company called Bentley Walker, which has an excellent trading reputation and has never gone bust. I established a relationship with them, because it was the most cost effective way for me to get a 2 way sat service of my own. Other than my own serivce I subsequently used my relationship with them to HELP 4 other people, for no profit to me for three of those and only charging a one off small fee for the fourth.

Whilst I am largley indifferent to insinuations and implications based on alledge hersay I DO most certainly take issue with direct defamation as has occured here and may well persue such illegal behaviour via the approriate means.

Hi Mark Msg 13,

I saw it but felt that for some of the many "new" users a slightly more explicit suggestion might be of use.

No, they are grey today in the "land between two rivers" just one teeny patch of light blue "not enough to repair a sailors trousers with"

Hi Tom

I understand your explanation, and thanks for explaining

You've sent the grey clouds further west and they've reached the Stroud Valleys :(
