| Lost wallet in Karsiyaka My stepson. having lost his wallet on arrival in the TRNC was advised by the car hire company to go to the local police to report the issue. So off we went to Lapta Police station. To be greeted with an indifference that almost beggars description. After trying to fob us off with wait till you get back to Germany, it then dawned on them that without a passport or ID card this would not be possible. The resulting recommendation deserves comment. "Claim that you lost it in Girne, they can fill out the report quicker there." We demanded they did it, it took them a whole week to complete the form. Simply the best, springs to mind. any info gratefully rec'd at alte_freunde@msn.com |

| my friend had her purse taken from her handbag, whilst shopping in lemar. the police weren't that helpfull, but it was found by another brit in the casino. empty of course but she did get back her personal stuff which was no use to the theif. they held on to it until she was next in cyprus to return it,rather than handing it in. so you may be luck. |
