| http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-14259202 Reading this report takes me back to the Beverly Alett case, where she also used insulin (on children) At the end of the report the hospital states that nurses giving out drugs should now do so in pairs. It was my understanding and experience that this has been policy for many years! (certainly in Scotland) Okay there can be exceptions, in the case of life threatening situations staff can be caught up, and patients need medication at certain times. But for this to happen at least 5 times and go undetected there is no excuse. Where there is life there is hope. |
