Internet not been too fast today, ran 4 speed tests, one speed tester provided by my internet supplier. Both results very good... 1st Test - D/L 1802 Kbps U/L 240 Kbps 2nd Test - D/L 1878 Kbps U/L 248 Kbps Then two tests from an independent source, both results very poor... 1st Test - D/L 220.00 Kbps U/L 220.00 Kbps 2nd Test - D/L 290.00 Kbps U/L 240.00 Kbps All tests were done within the last hour, but download speeds vary so much from each test site. How is this possible? Navek

Hi Navek Internet speed tests are often chosen by the supplier to demonstrate their service in the best light 0 I'm not saying that is happening here - but it is so often the case.. The speed differences you are experiencing might be the difference from true performance to an internet server outside their control and a test purely over their control. Where is the server you are connecting to for the test that is Slowww ? Often the problem is the backbone from the island to Turkey.

Navek speeds will vary to each site for two main possible reasons. First is the 'traffic' to a given site is different, like the traffic from Girne to Lapta may be different than that of Girne to Lefkosha, thus affecting your speed between the two. The other reason may be that a given site itself does not send out data as quick as another site, regardless of how much traffic / congestion there may be between you and them. Not getting the speed advertised is not unique to the TRNC by the way. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14295046
