totally agree lived here 4 yrs ventured up to hoots last night to take the kids to see poncho pete the kids loved it he made a mermaid , seahorse and bike for the our children and the Tapas was gorg and special drink prices too



RECOMMEND highly he is performing fri 5th aug

Msg 13 Had you been there this Tuesday for the 'Open Mic' I am certain you would be eating your words for supper. There was a young girl, Hannah, singing and playing guitar who captivated the audience, imagine Charlotte Church, Catherine Jenkins Adele and Katie Melua from one voice, that was Hannah.



Directions: Turn directly opposite Mambo Bar on the coast road in Alsancak towards Ilgaz and keep driving to the village of Ilgaz, Hoots bar is sign posted at the top of the village.



PS. Drunken wannabes rarely make it to the top, so no fear of meeting any at Hoots.

MiketheBike thank you old china, i'm in total agreement on all counts, Hannah the singer on Tuesday, well you would pay big money to hear a voice like that (she's coming this Tuesday )

Since we started the open mic (nearly 3 years now) every week is different, and some real suprises! From people that you wouldn't think had it in them to stars of the future, to the regular singers and bands every week the mix just gets better, it's just a pleasure to see the talent!

There's rarely drunken wannabees (they don't tend to stumble onto the mountain top your right mike!)

and if there is their welcome to take the mic but backing tracks and kareoke are BANNED!

Could have went on a roll but characters run out! Lilly get yourself and Guido up, we're neighbours! xx

#14 and #16, Hannah will be so chuffed to read your comments later. She's only 15 and been playing the guitar for about a year, once a fortnight guitar and singing tuition. Shows what can be done if a natural talent is recognised.



To see an audience absolutely silent and totally attentative during each song Hannah sung was quite humbling for me.



Hoots open mike night is really, really good, not anything like how some have perceived it to be. Come up to Hoots on Tuesday night and judge for yourselves.

Thanks everyone for the great comments, much appreciated.

For those interested in the open mic it's every Tuesday night, bar from 7pm music starts around 8.30pm. The lovely Hannah will be joining us again, (she won the Stars in their Eyes comp last year) and she really is a talent.

For an entertainment free night we do traditional sunday roast from 7pm as we feel it's too hot lunch time. We offer lamb & goat shank (25tl for 2 courses), pork, beef & chicken (20tl for 2 courses) bookings preffered.

Thursdays is quiz night at Hoots, 5tl per person, cash prize for 1st & 2nd teams, supper available at half time. 8pm start.

Fridays is happy hour from 6pm onwards with Tapas menu available.

We will be starting a saturday night MUSIC QUIZ & BBQ with musician Jack as quiz master, we're aiming for a relaxed evening with the bbq being served between 7pm and 8.30pm (15tl) for those who'd like to eat with the quiz starting soon after. No charge for the quiz. Call Hoots on 0392 8211029

Not just a good night out but very genuine helpful and knowledgable people as well. Thank you both for your help last time I was over. Didn't see Jan in the UK but met her boyfriend. He was a nice bloke.
