Hi I would appreciate some advice on this matter .I am getting married in Bellapais in September and was wanting to know if we were able to set off Chinese Lanterns from Bellapais.I am naturally aware of the hazard of dry land and fire .If it is possible where can i buy Chinese Lanterns from ?Thank you in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

After the coverage of Chinese Lanterns on BBCs Countryfile,I think it irresponsible to send flames in the air to land on ground which has seen minimal rain for possibly 6 months.

They don't usually land until the flame has exting/extinq/exstin gone out. But discarded fag ends cause fires.

Good thing is, by the time they come down, they're miles away, so no problem for you.

I have seen some being lit here before & what with the unpredictable wind that takes over here I remember it creating some sort of fiasco

I think balloons might be a safer idea.. Imagine if your wedding anniversary was known as the day you burnt down half off Bellapais!

Also is it the flame that sets the lantern flying or the wind?? If it is simply the wind could you know put LED tea lights in the lantern? Sorry if that is a stupid comment

Don't do it, it is not worth the consequences if they fly the wrong way. Someone got blinded in one eye when the hot oil tipped out on to their face too. Use Balloons if you must but they also litter the countryside. How about rose petals and fairy lights instead !

Anyway have a good wedding .
