A friend of mine has a second hand car lot and he said on Saturday the banks are not lending the full amount for cars any more and the rate is up to 14 percent, if you need to borrow more than 8oooytl the rate is 26 percent. He is very worried about his business as second hand cars are usually a lot more than that amount.

but if they are not lending, how can they keep giving 8-9% to their savers ?

Hi Deniz,



TEB Bank offers a rate of 1.08% per month/ 12.9% APR on TL for cars up to 8 years. Creditwest on the other hand has an 11% Per annum interest on foreign currency. I also have a car dealership and these two banks offer upto 100,000TL or up to £50,000 on foreign currency.
