For those who knew my agony over the last few days, i am the proudest parent right now cause my Son (a proffesional dancer) is in a group called PLAGUE which are currently in LAS VEGAS representing the UK in the World hip hop Champions, 4 day event with over 35 countries competing and 60 dance crews battling it out to win the gold and be crown the world champs. About 1 hr ago PLAGUE got the world title, for the UK, fantastic news!

Well Im also a very pround grandmama. My eldest grnadson is going to represent his country (WALES) in boxing. In Canada September. He lives for it. However and DC you will love this friday him and his friends are going to Amsterdam for 4 days. Not boxing. Oh god x hes my baby x

maybe so Hans but its so safe now, they are well protected. My daughter and son in law wont never allow him to be in any danger. I don't like it one bit but he lives for that and his rugby.He is 17 has two jobs and in 6Th form college, so I guess he does use his brains also. It is a competitive sport and we all know the dangers of anything competitive. I'm more worried why he is going to Amsterdam,. and no disrespect. I just cant see him as a man he is my baby. However I know he will have the best time ever there, its harder for me to accept that. His best Friend's family live there, he is into culture, but I just fell out of sight out of mind and god love him why the hell not. He is 17 but still 7 to me.

▶ It's a well known fact why 80% of young Brits come to Amsterdam, Liz. The Dutch government controls the use of drugs (drugs related crime is almost non existent - hopeless addicted people get what they need for free so they don't have to fight or steal and break into our cars). But the Red District (near the Central station) is where the young Brits go (every week end: boats, trains and planes full of them). These young Brits seem to flee their native country where punishment is obviously the only solution to the drugs problem.

In the Netherlands we have different ideas, I'm proud to say.

It's part of our view at life: you're the boss of your own body. Be it drugs, abortion, euthanasia etc.

Hans I understand all you say , I just cant think of him having sex he is my baby. I understand proud any mum would be if its dancing boxing etc. I know your country is well controlled thats not what I care about its my baby becoming a man.Well I guess to be on topic I should be proud, I am but hard to get my head around. Guess what I glad he has chosen Amsterdam because the are all clever boys and will go safe. Anyway well done the troupe.
