Fancied a good bit of steak last night so went along to the Kibet Steakhouse for the first time at around 9pm. There was about 15-20 diners and a few empty tables so I sat my ass down on one of the empty tables and waited for a while, eventually a waitress came and asked me if I would like a menu, my answer was yes, she then disappeared for 5-7 minutes.... Shortly after I was told by another waitress that they have a problem in the kitchen and that a steak meal will take a minimum of 1hr & 30mins !! I don't normally have a pop at establishments but Kibet are big enough & ugly enough to be able to run a little 40 cover steakhouse efficiently without having to turn away and lose custom. I ended up havin a fillet steak at Niazi's local, frozen chips, frozen veg, bit of tomato & a slice of gherkin which was crap !!

If kibet is the steak house opposite Karakum Lemaar the service wasn't much better when four of us went, and we the the only ones in. Everything but the steak was cooked from frozen, maybe the steak, too. Didn't detract from the taste though. The best steak I ever had in TRNC, shame about the staff. The wooden "plates" were sound.

If its the one opposite Lemar I have had a steak there, it was good but everything with it was awful, frozen veg, tinned mushrooms yuk and you can't even have a drink there, I like a glass of wine with my meal, probably won't go back again

An hour and a half for a steak? surely it would have been burned to a frazzle? I would have walked out as well.
