Oh, what an adorable looking munchkin - I truly wish I was there, I would be so tempted...bit of a podgemeister, but then none of us are perfect, and wouldn't take five mins to shift in the scheme of things (for her health, that's all, she is clearly very beautiful) one imagines her sunny disposition has earned her some yummy treats, cos who could resist - her personality truly shines out - I hope she quickly finds some humans to take on....

Sunny would be a good gentle 'running' companion to get fit with and she will also benefit at the same time...what a partnership that would be. Just a thought.

I do hope someone takes her on, but oh dear, those rolls of fat will have to come off, not good at all. Her Sunny disposition obviously makes her a real softy and she gets far more treats than are good for her. Eukanuba slimming food will do her the world of good and she'll feel better for it.

When this 'pup' was dumped on the doorstep of the owners they were already well into their '80's'. The man was partially blind and the lovely lady already had health issues.

Every day we hear of dogs looking for a home here on Cyprus 44, but for once this is a totally genuine case as the lady in question has now died and the man has had to go back to the UK as he is not only very old but being almost blind can no longer care for this lovely dog.

So worst scenario they leave the dog here to fend for herself! AND??????

Clearly Sunny is horribly over weight, but could you let me know what you think her actually size could be if she was slimmed down and how is she with other dogs. (be honest!!!)

I know from walking Sunny with our dogs that she is absolutely fine with both dogs and other bitches. She truly is and sweet natured. As for her size - - - - - - - not an expert but i'd say maybe 15 kgs would be healthy achievable weight for her,a vet the right one to ask though.

Please,if you haven't met Sunny already,go meet her,she is adorable, and she truly will not survive without someones help .Help that will be rewarded wih love and loyalty.

Msg. 43, I've had to really be strong with myself, but having left it for a while and fed, watered and walked my 4 a couple of times since posting , I've very reluctantly had to come to the conclusing that I just can't cope with a fifth. From every point of view, five would be one too many!!

I do hope someone can take this little love on board because she deserves it. But then so do all the sad cases both on this board and the 250+ up at the Centre. Little dogs are easier to home up there and Cyprus poodles/terriers (or in this case a Labradoodle) are popular

Having spoken to the owners of SUNNY time has almost run out.

A vet appointment will be made next week so when they leave they know where their dog is.

Sunny can not be dumped on the streets as she will not survive.

Anyone last minute who thinks that they can help please make contact.

I will post the end result of this appointment so everyone will know what has happened when it happens and the thread can then be closed.

Msg. 49 - I'm absolutely dreadful at trying to describe where to go in Girne when its not on one of the main roads. His phone number is 8153430. Its the place where a great many people go to have their Cyprus Terriers/Poodles clipped. Give him a ring and get the instructions and address over the phone.

this is such a sad posting. Apart from the human circumstances, anyone who takes this dog has un uphill battle to get rid of her extreme excess weight, so sad for this dog

"anyone who takes this dog...uphill battle to get rid of her extreme excess weight, so sad for this dog..."

I disagree - it would only take a few months of strict mealtimes, and heaps of walks and runs, and she will soon be turning into a slim, even more beautiful girl.....

Come on - someone must have room in their lives for this lovely girl.

If you want to give her a good home but are worried about the extra cost of another dog post on here anyway- maybe someone will help with sponsorship

Linda, I've been thinking on the same lines as others it would seem. I've explained that I just physically cannot take another (4 already) but I would be prepared to publically (a) go 50% with her yearly expenses i.e food, vets bills, clipping if someone else was to home (not kennels) her OR (b) commit to an agreed proportion of her upkeep for a minimum of one year i.e. sponsorship if she was to remain in kennels.

Either way the person/people concerned would have to agree to a proper diet and exercise for her. The strain on her heart etc must be pretty high as she is at the moment.

I'll go the other half with Tango (Linda has my contact details). This dog deserves a second chance. So no excuses people - if you have room in your life to make this dog happy, all costs will be met.

PS: I hope you managed to persuade the TC family to keep her jabs, etc etc up to date and get her registered with a local vet?? Just a thought.

Good news for a change, well done Linda for persevering! Oh and by the way we found a young alsatian cross bitch dumped at Yedikonuk beach today, middle of nowhere, no food, water. We went back and gave her food /water but we cannot leave her there, looks like k9 will have another stray to find a home for!! Any offers?
