As an ardent Liverpool Fan , I have to congratulate Man Utd on their victory today in Community Shield. They certainly have laid down a fresh approach of stiffling opposition as Man City had no answer to them in second half. Yes I am saying that they were awesome - but agree that Prem League/Cups are not won on first day of season.

Mancini the first casuality of the season. A team full of overpaid average players with little or no leadership,......no passion

Turtle, spot on, they did not have an answer to Man U pressure! Mancini , I would love to know what he said at half time but its as bad a 'Benitez' (apart from 2005!) but his job is safe as long as they win a trophy this season though!

No1Doyen said "I think United will win the Premiership again on this showing." This comment just shows how boring the English Premier League now is! Oh for a proper salary cap like in Australian Rugby League, that would shake things up a bit and bring in some much needed competition. Until then all the armchair 'Man U fans' (most of whom haven't even been to Manchester) can celebrate winning a trophy or two every year! (Yawn!)

MoonageDaydre To be fair most Man U supporters can't get in because the stadium's not big enough... As for the Premiership being boring, I take it you don't really like football.... :( The last title race was anything but boring... Of course sour grapes do play a part in some folk's dissatisfaction with their team's showing.
