|Having got addicted to a brand of yoghurt for sale here in lovely glass containers with lids - I really don't want to throw the jars away as I am sure they can be used for something. However, a pile of ov er 30 of these proves to me that the 'something' is not mine. anyone out there who could make use of them - all or some - do contact me and I will get them to you somehow. You can put small candles in them and if you tie a cord around the necks they can also be hung to make attractive outdoor lights.

A friend in the UK did this with those nice french jam jars with the checked lids.

thanks for the ideas, but I am happy to give them to chrisM. I don't do domestic these days and although kombuchai is great stuff, too many calories in too many jars!

As gto the candles, that is great, but I already have loads of the things. Of course if someone wanted to make them as craft items for christmas that could be a good idea. But if chris wants them, then that is where they shall go.

thanks again for the ideas, and my husband will be so glad he will have a bit more table top space to prepare my repasts. yes, he is the one in the kitchen. I resigned after 20 years of raising a family and cooking 3 times a day.

O.K. an update. Himself down stairs informed me that there are loads more hidden away, so I can make more people happy.

I have arranged with Chris to have 30 but there are now another 30 plus, so Scoobydoo how many do you want. You are aware that they are not TINY. so let me know (e mail or phone) how many you want and to where Ishould deliver them.

There could even be more if anyone wants them! and at the rate I eat yoghurt there could be plenty more.

About 5inches across and three inches tall (or maybe more) and curved like bowls. They are a yoghurt now sold in most supermarkets, but with no recycling facilities here, it seems a shame to throw them. a friend of mine uses them to put peanuts/nibblies in for parties (without the plastic lids).

Deniz so do I but I have many if anyone wants them call me 05338336911, I'm like Marion and after being in UK I know all about recycling but you can only keep so many. When we had the restaurant we would take the empties south side, they have the facilities for glass, plastic etc. Someone could make serious money hear to open a recycling plant. In the UK they now have a Steptoe man shouting any old iron. Now I know why my train journey was derailed they stole the copper TRUE x

I remember the Rag and Bone men that came around the streets of London with their carts. trouble is that northern cyprus doe snot have the population to make recycling economically viable. so it is up to us to pass things around rather than shove them in the dustbin for the overloaded, smelly dump. so who wants some jars???

Hi, I would love some of your jars because I plan to make marmelade, sun dried tomatoes etc. etc. I am in the Uk at the moment and will be back in 2 weeks so if you wouldn't mind keeping some for me that would be great. I live in Ozankoy. Many thanks.

what a pity the company that makes the yoghurt wont take them back it would save them a lot of money. They only need to be sterilized.

If both of youu contact me on marionstuart@hotmail.com I can make the appropriate arrangements.

I agree with message 16. I did think of contacting them, but the print on the label is so small I can't read it!

Maybe next time around. You can all benefit for now - and thanks for the response, that certainly deals with the current lot.
