Just to let people know this is my 5th year of temp residency and after queuing up for over 3 hours were told that because I am not marred to my partner we now have to get a letter from a Notar saying that if anything happens my partner is responsible for me together with a special letter from your Muhctar (sorry about spelling) which also states you are living together. This is the first time I have had to do this even though we have a child together and joint bank statements.

I have never had to do this before now, I was told the rule had just come in. They make the rules up as you go along.

My partner and I are not married so I always submit a copy of our wills (made here) too.

Getting married does make things simpler all round, if you've made the commitment to live together and have a kids surely being married wont change anything and it ensures everyone is legally protected. My ex wasn't married to the mother of his kids and when the split he had no rights at all when it came to the children.

misunderstood, I also submit a copy of our wills (made here) too but that would not suffice this time.

mistymoppet, thank you for your reply but this is not about whether we should get married or not, I was just informing people of the new rule changes. I certainly don't wont to be forced to get married because of residency.

Unfortunately we, like many others do not have our kocan yet, as soon as that is done we will put the house in both names

Message 8 I am not suggesting you get married if you don't want too just that life is very much simpler all round when you are.

Message 10. I guess tthe reason is because the purchase/Kocan is only on one name. Myself and partner applied for our residency in April and didn't have to get a Notar's statement or anything additional from the Muhtar but our contract, permission to purchase etc. is in joint names.

Parkview,

Yes just experienced this today when going to do residency.

Do you get Muhtar Letter first before going to Noter ?? New one on me as well as never been asked this in all the time we have been here. Shame it was not mentioned at the Police Station a few weeks back when took all documents in.

Can anybody advise where Noter is ? Thank you
