gau is girne american university its in girne they hav male n female dorms, i school here. the locals are nice, especially the middle class below..i am nigerian i dont work here though its almost impossible for a nigerian to get a decent work and study job here..living here could be cheap or expensive depends on your life style ..especially if you go out a lot. the dormitories are the male and female campuses

Ragga sadly No . No work. if you have followed this board you will see why. The wages are around 500 pounds a month. To set up on your own you will need mega money. Also work permits to foriengers are not being granted anymore.

I am also qualified electrician and credited by KIBTEK (after I rewired my own home). However I was never able to work here because I was not able to get a work permit - I am English by the way. Even if you get a work permit there is just no work around but if you are lucky and find some you won't get paid more than about GBP 15 a day, which is what Turkish Mainlander Electricians living here work for. Good place to retire to, no good for work. Sorry to sound negative, but I tell it how it is. Geoff Gazimagusa (Famagusta City).
